Parking Lots 02:45
We empty bottles in a parking lot Alone again with all our thoughts Do we ever know who we really are I turn the dial and we hit the road Miles spent with nowhere to go Will this, will this ever feel like home Set fire to the nights we drank alone Regrets aside let's take the long way home It's alright if we don't really know What we want out of life Drive it fast cause you know we don't have much time Drink it down cause it could be our last night Do what we can so that we feel alive Whoever thought we could get this far On cigarettes and beat up old guitars Now we know who we really are

You make me break for goodness sake, You don't know the way, you don't know the way You catch my eye and and you make me shake and unsure of just what to say I know that you don't mean it When you distract my mind And make me question everything I've been watching from across the room And I don't care what I gotta do I'll talk all night, lose my head Just to make it out of here with you So take another spin around the jukebox dial You know it couldn't hurt if you stayed a while Cause' you're the only girl worth a damn in this dive tonight You make me break for goodness sake You don't know the way, you don't know the way You hold me up and and you make me shake Tie me up in the games you play I wonder if you mean it When your distract my mind And make me question everything I've been watching from across the room And I'll do anything I gotta do I'll talk all night, lose my head Just to make it out of here with you Let's take another spin around the jukebox dial You know it couldn't hurt if you stayed a while Cause' you're the only girl worth a damn in this dive tonight Maybe my expectations have escalated to a whole new low Maybe too low for me to go This situation has drawn me to something that I never want to know I think I'm tired and letting it show I've been watching from across the room I think I've been warned about girls like you You tie my hands behind my back With everything you say and do I'm spending all my money on the jukebox dial Placing all my bets on bittersweet denial I'll hitch a ride and sleep this one off tonight You're not worth a damn in this dive tonight

I never meant to hurt you again You know I try with the best of intentions I lose sight from lies invented in my head Can't fall short in the race I started Or leave so cold and broken hearted Can't build this home with paper walls I wanna live the life we dreamed of It doesn't seem that way right now But I would never let you down I only say this cause I mean it I gotta call it how I see it I don't wanna talk about it now I never meant to hurt you again But this burns like a match inside of my head I can't forget a promise to myself or to my friends I know it's not easy to read my clearly It might seem like i'm wasting time Although I may not alway show it You're always on my mind I can't live a bitter half life It's harder than you know I can't let go

I'm not trying to change the world, it's just one man's perspective I thought the whole idea was for this to be subjective But it's a material market, a puppet on its strings I'm not a cynical guy, just a product of my surroundings I've never apologized for anything I've said I'll never live it down if I let it get to my head So I watch what they put on my TV Don't know how this ever came to be But I know that this is the death of Rock n' Roll I'm not trying to change the world; maybe just redirect it I'm not trying to change this scene, but It's become a little disconnected Maybe I'll try to stand out for a while, be a little more sublime Or maybe tt's like Brian said, I wasn't made for these times I'll never apologize for anything I've said I'll never live it down cause' I won't let it get to my head So I watch what they put on my TV Don't know how this ever came to be But I know that this is the death of Rock n' Roll The slaves to the FM dial will sing Along with the demise it'll bring It's out of control, this is the death of Rock n' Roll The late night talk show hosts agree It's the next big thing, it's not for me Now I know this is the death of Rock n' Roll Yeah I know, this is the death of Rock n' Roll It's lost it's soul, this is the death of Rock n' Roll So I'm staying home, this is the death of Rock n' Roll
